thinking about getting a 1.4GHz Mac mini

hi

I am thinking about getting a 1.4GHz Mac mini. In fact, I've never used a Mac before and the only Apple products I have are iPhone 4S and iPad Mini.

They are cool stuff giving me a brand new experience, but it is undeniable fact that an Apple phone has far more restrictions and offered less flexibility than an Android phone, especially for someone who was shifting from an Android phone to an iPhone. But I can understand that, it's because Apple 'think different'

How about shifting from PC to Mac? 1.4GHz Mac Mini in particular. This is the most affordable one. What is everything I need to know before shifting from PC to Mac? In PC world, I am using a lot of software, will those software become unavailable to the Mac world?? Do they even have a different file format / file structure? Is there any webpage I won't be able to visit with a Mac??? Is there anything that one can often do with a PC won't be able to do it again with a Mac??

Thank you. I am still thinking about either a PC laptop, a Macbook or a 1.4GHz Mac Mini which is a small portable box.

I find OSX more user friendly than Windows 8, however the only thing you need to understand in day to day app usage is when you hit the red (x) is the application stays in memory, unless you go file > quit. Applications will just have to be found/purchased, your windows applications will not run unless you run them in parallels. But many of the applications you use have a mac alternative so you should be okay there. Only recommendation is make sure the mac has 8 gigs of ram, 10.9 and above seem to be a memory hog and on 4 gigs the mini seemed to struggle, never had issues with 8 gigs.
