Thinkcentre Edge 72 Intel HD Graphics 2500

Well, i bought a Thinkcentre Edge 72 some time ago:
Core i5 3470S 65W Ivy Bridge 2.9GHz 6MB LGA (4 CPUs)
4096MB(4GB) Ram
Intel HD Graphics 2500

Now, i didn't buy that PC for gaming, i do 3D Modelling and Photoshop stuff, so i didn't really care what the video card is (Intel HD GFX 2500), it's really fast(or at least its not slow) for those things..
But recently i have had some projects with making clips of games and editing them, i have been using another pc for the games but i was wondering what do i have to update to run some of the latest games atleast 1280x720, i have tried games like NFSMW and i can only get smooth 30fps when i use 800x600 and all the lowest settings.. In some other games i can change the textures etc but i have to be playing at 800x600 for it to run atleast 30fps.
So anyways i don't know much about the inner side of computers and how the parts work with each other so i'm asking you guys, if and how can i get this pc to run games on higher resolutions.
I guess that the Video card is the biggest problem cause it is an Integrated Graphics Adapter , so it loans from RAM.

Or maybe im just stupid and shouldn't try to figure things out on my own.

Thanks for reading that long boring text, hope you have an answer.

OH and english is not my native language, so sorry, if there are mistakes ;)

Why don't you care about video cards? 3D modeling and Photoshop are very GPU intensive, and you would notice a huge improvement in those programs with a dedicated video card.

Well yeah, true, but i didn't wanna pay higher price to get a better video card because i felt like its enough for me, which it was, until i had to run games, now thinking, i should've actually cared more, but it's done and i wanna know that if i would change the video card, would it be compatible with the other things or do i need a new pc .

Yes, if you install a stronger video card you'll get better performance. You may also need to upgrade your PSU as well to handle the new video card (depending on which card you get).
