Will a Belkin Wireless Pre-N Router have a greater range over a standard linksys wireless 'G' router?

I am thinking of buying a Wireless Pre-N Router by belkin. My Linksys wireless router absolutly does not have enough range for my size house.

I know what the advertizements and on the box says, but the truth....
Will the Wireless Pre-N Router have a farther coverage/range? How much more than a standard Linksys or Belkin G router?

Honestly it will probley be about the same or slightly more. i think you best option is to either set up a repeater, or get a better antenna for your current router.

the N standard will have an increase range, and although the standard has not been ratified yet the one use in belkin pre-N is pretty much accepted as the one that will be signed to.

The Pre-N technology definitely has a greater range than the standard G. The only problem with buying a Belking router is that they're not very good quality and they have been know to hardwire ad-ware into the routers... Any Linksys, D-Link or Netgear product would be much better, don't waste your money on any Belkin networking product.

I have 3 belcan network cards and a router, never had a problem. I would recomend them.

Anywho, your probibly better off with a better antenna or a repeater.

i have never read any problems with them, i have several belkin routers, and adapters, having never had a problem except one breaking in a power surge i am happy to recommend them

Go With It

I worked at a computer store for three years and I can tell you that almost EVERY big business that bought networking products went with Belkin. I am in college right now and have the preN router and network cards and they work GREAT. The other four apartments that surround mine have no problem connecting to the network and we have never had any kind of difficulty with it. Most importanty, my experience working with Belkin customer service has been very good. They can usually answer any questions you have and when I filled out a post-call survey they emailed me, they sent me a 20% off anything coupon!
