Hey guys I am planning to buy my new printer dont know what is the best one to buy? I want a printer that has great out come images and I have seen on TV about a printer that can print big images, and specially the quite one! What do you think is the best printer to buy? Definitely not cost too much just a nice and good quality printer. Anyone has?

I've got the Epson 830 and thats pretty good. Occasionally goes wrong but nothing a simple reset won't fix. I've got to agree with Apokarteron though. It guzzles ink like theres no tommorow.

Lexmark and Cannon's are cheap. Epson and HP are both quite good but I beleive HP is the top. Also, the cheaper HPs seem to do better than most others. I have an HP that cost me $40 and it's quite good. I've used much more expensive Cannon's and they weren't even close to the speed or quality.

The Lexmark's I've used tend to go though ink VERY fast. Now the one I had was a very cheap one, but it wasn't even close to my HP, once again.

Eh, I could go on and on :P

I have a Canon Pixma IP4000, and have been VERY pleased with it. Before buying a printer I would take a look at the cost of replacement ink, as it can quickly exceed the initial purchase price of the printer. Here in Australia, the Canon ink seems to be the cheapest, followed by the Epson, then the Lexmark, with the HP as the most expensive. On the same topic I would recommend a printer with seperate ink tanks for the different colours, as it's a real shame to throw out all three (or four or five) ink tanks if only one colour is empty.

What is your budget, and are you looking for any extra features in particular? e.g. CD printing, A3 printing (much more expensive), etc...

I haven't looked through this article fully, but it seems to have some extensive reviews of some printers that may be in your price range:

Maybe some of the more expensive cannons would be good, but I had to deal with my parents old BJC-4000 for a while and it was COMPLETE JUNK! I'm been aginst them since, and yet to find a decent printer from them. Heh, one of the only dead ones we had at the shop has been a Cannon ;P

I suppose we've both had different experiences. Here in Australia I had to give away two perfectly good HP printers (and it was quite difficult even to get people to take them) because a replacement ink tank cost more than the printer did. I was paying $40 for a generic ink tank (original HP tanks were $60), and it was only 13ml. With my Canon, the 28ml ink tank costs only $4. I have also been extremely impressed by the print quality and extra features, which were far better than my old HP.

That's not to say that I feel that Canon is necessarily the best, as I'm quite certain that all the manufacturers have improved their printers over the last few years, but I would recommend that you check into the ink costs before you buy a printer. It is a sad fact that, at least in Australia, all of the major printer manufacturers actually make more money off ink sales than off printer sales, and even one replacement ink tank can sometimes cost more than a budget printer.

All in one is good. I had it for 2 years and it prints fine. It comes with a scanner, copier and a printer. its Hp all in one. I got mine at Bestbuy.

ha, my old printer here, the HP 6122, runs like a semi, but she runs and I love her, almost as much as my computers! I also have a Epson C86 but it took a long time to get it working because of the alignment and stuff you have to do.

I have a lexmark all in one X1180 the print quality is excellent, the only down side to it is the price of the ink cartridges and they dont seem to last very long.:)
