Currently using a Gateway 500X running Windows XP. I plan on spending 2 to 3 months with my daughter and would like to use her computer which is a HP Pavilion using Windows XP. My computer is setup to pay bills and use a voice to text program, which I know her computer does not do. Is it really feasible to try to move programs and data to this second computer? Am I looking for trouble or is there a simple solution? Thanks for any and all comments!

i think it will be a can of worms.
if ya have backups of the installation you may be ok there then install. Just to copy installations from the program files will likely be many problems. haven't even talked about the registery yet. if ya have data only like doc files etc but ya still need the installation for the programs.
on the otherhand some of these programs on the gateway may be specific to the oem. and never get it working on a HP oem.
