J jetsmell Member Jan 9, 2016 #1 My task bar is on the bottom and I would like for it to be hidden when not in use. I have right clicked the task bar and un ticked ' lock the task bar' , but that didn't work.

johnb35 Administrator Staff member Jan 9, 2016 #2 Open Taskbar and Start Menu Properties by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Taskbar and Start Menu. On the Taskbar tab, under Taskbar appearance, select the Auto-hide the taskbar check box, and then click OK. The taskbar is hidden from view. You can see it again by pointing to the place where you last saw it.
