Talking about Piracy

I was with some friends and (as usual) the conversation turned to computers and systems, and a question that made us all think came up:

'Do you have any pirated software on your system ?'

Before you answer NO, think- have you ever borrowed software from a friend, downloaded music or video from Youtube (or similar) without payment, or ever received a program (non-free) and used it?

Not one of us can truthfully answer NO, Could you?.

I was not discussing using piracy or any programs that can be used as piracy, but rather peoples thoughts on what is Piracy; and how common is it.

Simply a topic for discussion

Piracy is a myth, the concept of piracy is put out there by big greedy corporations to blackmail and stigmatize peoples free right to own what they have paid for.

Although i am glad to finally see that some common sense is starting to come through with the British government changing legislation to make it perfectly legal for people to transfer media to and from there electronic items, i.e. computers, tablets, phones, portable players etc.
