Surround sound issue

Hello all. I just buy my first surround system (Logitech X-530). Before that I have Logitech X-230 2.1 system. So when I try to connect my new 5.1 to my pc, I find out that my cound card is only 2-channel:( so the only thing that is working now are 2 front speakers, and subwoofer. Rear speakers, and front center speaker are dead:( . My sound card only have one jack: GREEN. For X-530 system It needs 3: GREEN, BLACK and ORANGE. So I know now that I will need to replace my old card to new 5.1 card. My old motherboard can support 6-channel audio. Btw, it is Asus A7V600-X. So, what sound card is good enough for my 5.1 system?? Thank you very much for any advise and help! (sorry about my bad english)

Welcome to the forum. :)

If you want the very best of sound cards for such a good set of speakers, I'd recommend any one of the Xtreme Fidelity range from Sound Blaster.

In the mean time, can't you just use the motherboard audio?

Thanks! Yes, I am forced to use SoundMAX Digital Integrated Audio tool right now;). It is still great sound on 2.1 (front + subwoofer)... kind of pice of surround, but not realy.. I will explore those Extreme Fidelity cards! I hope that on tuseday I will buy some card, because it is not easy to see/hear 3 silent speakers:o

i got those speakers yesterday. -They are awsome- ! i love them!!!!!
Hope you will have fun with them,

Chris

having same problem

Hello

I know I shouldn't be posting questions on the same post but then it's better to stick with one post with the same subject then to start my own post. I am having the same problem. My current sound card has the Orange, Blue, Pink Green and Black Jack but for some reason only my front right, left and center is working and my rear right and left doesn't work. Is it really because of my sound card or maybe some configuration I can fix on my computer? Any recommend sound cards that are not too pricey..Please help me out. Been trying to figure this out for the past month. Thank you in advance.

PS: I am using the Logitech Z-5300

What is your sound card? I think it would probably be a configuration issue rather than anything else, have you made sure that you have selected the correct sound sound configuration in the sound card's control panel? It's unusual for a sound card's software to be set up just right from the word go - mine was configured for 2 speakers until I changed it.

The sound card I currently using is a Sound Blaster Live (regular). Then I went ahead and bought a Sound Blaster Live 5.1. With the 5.1 it only allowed my rear right and left to work. My regular only allowed my Front right, left and center to work. I tried configuring it in the configuration and it was set as desktop speakers but changing it to surround sound or to 5.1 it doesn't change anything and still the same front left, right and center working only. I assume maybe it's the sound card I have and was wondering if ther is a cheaper sound card that works the same for about $50.00. The sound blaster Live x-fi sounds cards are nice but its way out of my budget now. I have these speakers for about 2-3 months now and still didn't get all 5 speakers to work. If you know sound card you guys recommend that would be great. Thank alot again for you help. Hope to hear from you.
