hi,

i am going to buy a creative inspiron 5200 speaker. i have an intel PG 965RY motherboard. wat i wanna know is; is it required for me to buy a sound card or will my motherboard be able to handle to the speaker without the soundcard? :):):)

Hey! I think the best thing for you to do is look @ the specs for the motherboard. If there is one built in, then you won't need another one, unless you want 2 sound cards. I know there are quite a few more motherboards now that come with the sound card built-in. If there's not one built-in, then you will need one for sure!

Creative Audigy Sound Card, 5.1 - Very nice, i use my Logitech X 540's and it works a treat!

It depends on the speakers u are using is it 5.1, 7.1, 2.0. If you are using 2.1 I think the onboard audio will do fine.Make sure your mobo has onboard audio if it does just need to go to bios and enable them there and install the drivers. Hope this helps. I have the Creative Fatality X-fi Extreme Gamer im running 5.1 setup listen to music loud but not too loud the chip I have works great.

You can keep the onboard sound, but if you want a cheap, good sound card that has some nifty effects and good bass boosting abilities get a:

Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1 Card, they are cheap at around $60 max, will improve sound quality on any speakers and have some nice bass and other effect settings. Card also looks pretty hot. :)
