sudden death?

Hello, I've got a pair of Logitech Z3's and a bass box on my Acer AX 1301. Last night for no apparent reason the right hand speaker started distorting at quite a low volume, and obviously got so bad as I turned it up that I couldn't listen to it. I've had them for a couple of years now and they cost me about £60 I think. Have they died? Is it normal practise to have to go out every couple of years and replace speakers? They have been great and I'm gutted. Is there anyway of fixing this problem? I would be so grateful if some kind soul out there could help me please. Many thanks, Guy.

Not sure if the Z3's have a fuse, but if they do it may need replacing. Otherwise you may have an issue with the power supply on the speakers.
 
I have a similar issue with my logitech's. In the cold weather my left speaker doesn't work until it gets some strong sounds pumped through it... It's always a dodgy connection in the little control box. I had to fix mine by cutting the cable and soldering the connections to the bottom of the circuit board in the control thing. if that makes sense.
