Subwoofer hookup question???

I have an Altec Lansing ADA 885 system with a subwoofer, but I just got a Bose MediaMate system recently. The MediaMate system is just two speakers with no subwoofer, so I was wanting to find a way to hook the subwoofer from the old system up to the Bose system. The Bose system has two speakers where the accessory speaker plugs into the powered speaker and then the powered speaker goes directly to the sound card. The Altec Lansing has four speakers that hook up to the subwoofer and the subwoofer hooks up to the sound card. Here are links to the two systems that I have that can explain the connections a lot better than I can. Any help in incorporating the subwoofer into the Bose system would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Well, the subwoofer is hooked up to the sound card and I have been running it perfectly with the Altec Lansing speakers, but my problem is that there is no way to go through that same subwoofer with the Bose speakers...or least that I know of.

I had seen reviews on other sites where people said they were running these Bose speakers with a subwoofer. I was wondering if there is an adapter or something to make it possible to plug the Bose speakers into the subwoofer...they go directly to the sound card now.

There are two speaker outputs from the subwoofer(left and right) in which the female end is circular with recessions for pins to go into. One of the speakers attaches to the other and then a single male cable runs directly to the sound card, which is not what I want. I would like to run it through the subwoofer. So there is no way to plug the speaker cable into the subwoofer without an adapter...does anyone know of such an adapter??? I am not sure of the technical names for the types of plugs, but the info at the links should be able to show you. Thanks.

i duno what your setup is like, but my right speaker hooks in with 3 chords to the back of my computer, and then hooks in the side of the subwoofer, and then from the subwoofer my left speaker, middle speaker, and back speakers plug in.
i have 5.1 audio though, and im sure different brands do it different ways.

My left speaker plugs into my right speaker and then the right speaker plugs directly to the sound card. My old system had four speakers that plugged into the subwoofer and the subwoofer plugged into the sound card. My dilemma is the fact that the subwoofer accepts a connection from a speaker that has a cable with pins (almost like an s-video cable), whereas my new speakers have the cable that plugs into the normal sound card jack. Clear as mud??? Is there anyone out there that has run into something like this or knows what I'm talking about?
