alright i have a subwoofer in my room, and my room isnt every well insulated. my room is in the basement, and the family roomk is directly above my room, and even when the subwoofer isnt very loud you can hear it pretty clearyly upstairs. i dont want to disturb anyone in the family room, so how could i make it so you dont hear it very much in other rooms? is it possible?

You can get sound inslation that goes into you walls. Other then that, i can only think of moving it somewhere else. You can also turn down the sub i you really needed quitness.

Studiofoam or something like that (very expensive), or just draping comforters around your room will do the trick, although I doubt you want to take into consideration the comforter idea. Frequencies that a sub makes are hard to stop from traveling.

Turning it down is free, although it seems as if you've tried that.

Screw them ;)

Haha, nah... There's not much you can do. I assume it's the noise they hear and not say vibrations(which is more the problem with my setup :D )

You could always resort to say a headset and some bass-shakers on your chair ;)
