sub woofer doesn't seem to be working

i've got Xsonic CST-z100 2.1 Speakers and it seems that my sub woofer part doesn't have any sound coming out. I've set up in sound and audio devices properties under speaker settings, advanced, speaker setup chosen surround sound speakers (i think thats what it would be). Just wonder if i can test to see if the sub woofer is getting sound.

How many plugs does it have to go into the computer? If it's just one, it makes no difference what settings you've set...

Well, actually, it could. If you have it set for surround sound, it might be sending higher frequency sounds to the front output(where the sub and satellites are connected) However the sub's only made to play the lower frequency sounds that are being played though the SUB out. Change your setup to basic 2 channel(again, if you only have one plug)
