Stuttering in the soundcard.

My Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE has some issue or something...

I get some stuttering/lag in music/games.... I don't know what from...

i guess its too many process running on ur computer that cause the lag..

btw wad anti virus software u use?

60 processes is just crazy....I can tell you 30~45% of those aren't needed.

Disable all the Windows Services that you don't use. Uninstall necessary programs that always run in the background when Windows starts. Download and install new drivers.

and I have the latest drivers...

Just by looking at the TaskManager I can't tell which ones aren't needed....

Which slot is the card currently in? Trying moving it down to 2nd or 3rd slot. Most people don't realize is that Sound card and Video card can cause interference to each other. Most of the time, it is the sound card that gets affected.

1)close ur stream

2)yahoo mess

3)xfire

4)and things u dun really need it

by closing this few..i think more or less it will help abit in decresing the lag in ur sound.

come to think of it, I did move my Sound card up to the slot my Firewire card was in, which is a slot under my GPU... so I guess I'll uninstall everything, and move it back to where it was.

1: I get alot of messages over steam

2: I use YIM

3: I get alot of messages on Xfire

4: I use most everything running. I don't install things I don't need.

go to Uniblue do one of their scans with process scanners they will have an explanation for each process running!

crimsonite if u can tell 30-40% of the process are not needed how can u say u have no idea wich process are not neccessary to be in use in the task manager screeshot it doesnt make any sense. any how i have about 60 process running most of the time under vista and it runs still very fast. under vista click on properties to see what is the process running

Still having this issue...

it comes and goes, but its a static and it's VERY annoying...

I'm about ready to say screw it and go back to HD onboard.

Have you try reinstalling the soundcard drivers? The crackeling/popping/static noise happened to me once, and they were all gone after I reinstalled the drivers.

I see in your sig that you have overclocked things, including RAM.
Did you have stuttering when you were not overclocked? And how much RAM do you have?
