stupid Bluetooth question

apart from other all the other ways of connecting to ipad or android to a computer or whatever. is Bluetooth something that has to be internet connected or is it not. I suspect it will but if that means if that's all you have do you really need an internet connection...
 
No. You can just link up two devices to transfer files and whatever, bluetooth doesn't need internet at all (though you can use internet over bluetooth if you like and your thing supports it).
 
The major use for bluetooth actually doesn't require internet access, such as connecting your phone to a bluetooth headset.
