I have a Cmputer with a Asus board, Problem is the darn thing dont come on with I push the power button. Sometimes it does, Most of the time it dont. I reset the Bios to default, Removed the battery, Changed the power supply. Still comes on when it wants. Any ideas what can be wrong? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Loose connection somewhere, bad power button. Is this a custom built pc? Has it always done this or did it just start doing it?

For the most part custom built. It was a gift had windows 2000 in it was a server. Now i installed windows 7 64bit. if I restart it like 10 times you can hear the hardrive kick in. or sometimes comes on first try, mostly is a pain to start up.

Sounds like it might have hardware issues like hard drive if you say its only starts up once in 10 tries. Are all power connections tight? Maybe failing molex connectors or power supply.

make sure the power on connector is correctly inserted into the right pins on the mobo ive had this problem before, or see whether its the PSU. I recommend changing the fuse in the plug or look into buying a cheap psu tester.

Bought brand new power supply, did everything i can think of reset BIOS the works. Now if I unplug it, I try it hours later I can hear the harddrive click on and it works. So i suppose i have to unplug this thing each time and plug it in to use it? Has to be something im not seeing. other than sometimes shows a error on start-up saying overclocking failure or hit F-2 to continue ? huh
Almost ready to make it a fish house in the canal behind my home......
