Speakers

So I blew my speakers this morning...only took 8 years of abuse :P

I am still using my old HP speakers that I got from my 2nd HP when I was a kid so anything should be a upgrade over them :D

These should be it (they at least look dead on)

Anyways a buddy of mine told me to snag a set of Logitech X-230 but sadly they are no longer making them and all sold out.
The X-240 have horrid reviews which was another bummer since you would think a newer model would sound better.

Then I ran across these.

Anyone ever use them? I never actually had a set with a subwoofer but I assume you still leave it on the ground vs near your rig/monitor.

I figure they will easily be a upgrade over my old set since they are so old and from HP how good could they be?

They also have really good reviews...sadly the volume is on the woofer BUT I have a G11 so I should be able to turn the sound down from the keyboard.

or is there a better option?

Not really on a budget...but I don't need speakers that a audio freak would need either. I have used low budget speakers for 8 years so anything has to be a upgrade over 8 year old speakers.

Just need them to sound good at normal levels. Reason I went by reviews on the currently linked ones.

Eh got bored and hooked up some stereo speakers and spliced them into my old PC speakers.

Result? Surround sound with great base ^-^

Only issue is they are like 6 feet tall and 2 feet wide so gotta find a better place for my desk since I am not sticking um near my PC (keeping on sides)
