Speakers to close to monitor?

I have two five inch speakers on either side of my monitor and I just hooked them up. They sound great but whenever I move the speakers away from the monitor, I get weird colors on the sides, like red and green. But when I move the speakers back, it looks fine. Is this bad? Or should I just leave the speakers there and not worry about it too much?

well if those small ones are connected to a big one, the one you should worry about is the big one, but if they're the small kind but powerful you should move them away, they can ruin your monitor.

Wtf are u talking about?

To the poster, u need shielded speakers, this is because the magnet in teh speaker is reacted to by teh monitor. To get rid of the colors try a degauss if its a crt dunno bout lcd. Move teh speakers far away from the monitor or at least til u dont see teh colors again. This happened to me a couple weeks ago when my mom put my subwoofers next to my really nice tv and completly fugged it up.

I moved the speakers about two feet away from the monitor(crt) and the colors are still there. How far do i need to move them so the colors go away?

Where can I get shielded speakers? Or a degauss?

If you're on a CRT...degauss if an option usually on the monitor menu...whatever menu buttons are physically on your crt monitor...play around with them until you find the option "Degauss"...press it...it should restore the colors.
