i got these speakers about 2 years ago i was on a budget and wasn't expecting much out of these but surprisingly they were really good...however here lately i've been hearing this really loud sorta morse code sound coming from the sub today its done it more than i think its ever done but the funny thing is even when i have the speakers turned off and the pc completely shut down it still does it now if my speakers aren't dying this definitely can't be good anyone experienced this sorta thing?

It could be that it's just dying of prolonged use.. but it also seems like, from your explanation that something close to it or near it is affecting the speakers. Are there any metals or magnets of some sort near it at the moment? Another thing are wireless things such as wireless phones, cell phones, and such may be affecting your speakers also. Any major moves or anything recently in your house/room?

i just gave a good look around and there's nothing that could be interferring i lifted the sub and looked at the bottom of it to see if it was busted but its not and i haven't moved in about a year so im thinking you're correct about it dying from prolonged use it was a very cheap set of speakers so i didn't expect them to last forever....any suggestions for a new set within the $30 - $40 range i also don't have a sound card just onboard

Onboard sound card should be sufficient enough if you aren't planning to make your pc an entertainment console/center. As fas as the speakers, I actually do not know what a good speaker should be or have, there are many members here that game and have great quality setups, you might have to wait for one of their replies.

I have always used those small itty speakers that comes free when you buy a PC, i never really gave any thought to sounds so sorry I can be of no help there.
