Speakers and HDMI

I have a set of home theater speakers and a receiver with an HDMI port on it, My TV has an HDMI port as well. My DVR box is in the other room, I have a coax cable plugged into my wall. I'm wondering how I get the speakers to work for my TV and a console.

the easiest method I use is to hook the TV audio out to your receiver, and plug everything into the TV, the TV should output any sound through your receiver. This also lets you use the TV controller for volume (sometimes, depends on your TV.)
