Does anyone know of a company that makes good quailty($300 range) speakers that let you use your own wire? I dont want to buy a surround set and have the rear speakers not have enough length.

Just a tip; i use lighting circuit cable, its single core, thick, and cheap... perfect

well it depends, some speakers use bi-wiring. which speaker cables do you have?
cables i use is Monitor Audio PureFlow high performance silver speaker cables (Twin Pair (4 Core)) with mission speakers. superb speaker cables gives u really good sound with other set-ups.

Full HT system within your price range. Hook it up with an optical cable and you'll be playing HL2 in 6.1. You can use whatever speaker wires you want.

I have that exact system and it kicks major ass, especially for the $270 shipped I paid for it.

If you want big league sound, then you're going to have to buy big league equipment. I promise you will not be dissappointed with this. If you'd like some pics of it let me know. It's not puny

Also the Logitech Z-5500's are very decent. They allow you to easily switch your speaker wire and are in your price range.
