Hello all, if i play my music full blast on my speakers is this a bad idea? can i damage them? ive been told i can and i see the logic but they are fine. does it just depend on your speakers and should you never listen to things full blast? is this me being dumb for all of these years? thanks all and i have just normal dell speakers. thanks!!!:D

Running any speaker setup full volume can easily lead to damage due to the levels of signal distortion where some are beyond the range of hearing. Besides the possible damage by overpowering speakers think about your own hearing as well there. Or maybe in a few years "heh? agh.. what did you say?

normal speakers.. it'll probably die or blow up sometime soon.

good speakers.. you can probably get away with it for a while.

but all and all, it'll just waste the life of your speakers away.

i see now and yeah its about time i turn em down. and actually in the tme of asking this i think ive damaged one a little, aww well, thanks guys!!!

well i blew my subwoofer on my Z-55500 it wasnt even up all the way but it was loud and it still works it just makes a rattling noise now. so if you want your speakers/subs to last dont turn them up all the way all the time.

If the music sounds distorted when the volume is up turn it down. Obviosly different kinds of music and sounds alike have different levels. But you will do more damage faster by pushing the amplifier, amplifier circuit, whatever then running an amp with more power to get to the same level. Cranking an underpowered amp can cook the magnets. The ideal is where you match the amp with the speakers so that you don't have to go up more than half way.
