Speaker Volume Problems

I am having a problem with this item (SW-V2.1 1250 Gaming Speaker System). I got it just the other night (12-12-08) it was working great like many reviewers who said they bought it said. I tried it out by playing music from iTunes and playing computer games, just basically seeing if it really gives all the juice and compatibility it offers. Then I wake up around 10:00 the next morning to play a game on my computer, and the sound on the speakers acted like they were on really really low, when the volume knob was half-way. I'm not sure if anyone has had this problem so far with these kinds speakers or speakers in general, but if anyone has any insight as to how to fix the problem, it would be a great help. Thanks

Take a look at the volume level for the onboard or installed sound card's software mixer to see if that was lowered for some reason. Since this was seen after a fresh startup the sound drivers and software may have only partially loaded. Or the default settings were restored reducing the mixer levels.
