I have Dell Altec Lansing THX 5.1 surround sound computer speakers with a subwoofer. The center speaker and the right front speaker are broken. Is there a way to combine channels so that the broken channels (center and right rear) can be played through the working left front/left rear speakers and right rear speaker. In other words can I combine the channels of my 5.1 speakers into 2.1 or 3.1 sound so that I'm not missing channels due to broken speakers?

thank you

ps I'm looking for a program to do the job or somethign similiar, I dont want to sodder combine wires by hand

How are they broken? Is any sound coming out? If not, it's probably a blown amp. Without knowing exactly how everything connects, it's difficult to say the best way to connect things. However, assuming it's all analog, you could probably plug the rear channel into the front channel on the computer then splice the wires together and plug them into the rear output on the sub If it doesn't have bare wires, you will need to do some cutting/splicing/solding, but nothing too major.

Don't think there's any programs out there that would fix that type of problem. I think you do what The_Other_One suggested, or cut your loses and sell them on e-bay as parts.
