So right now I have the Bose Companion 3 series 2, 2.1 speakers. I was wondering if I should take em back and get the logitech z-5500, now they don't have very much bass, but mabey that is my sound card? I only have an onboard sound card.

P5K SE/EPU is my motherboard
ASUSTeK Computer Inc.

If I were to go and buy a decent sound card, would it increase my bass and stuff, or are the bose just a low bass speaker? I'm not totally a bass guy, but it's nice to have a bit of bass when playing.

For the z-5500, are they good for everyday music? Better then the bose, or about the same? Can you turn the bass down to where it's vertually not there, or are those the gamer speakers and bass is what it's best at and used mainly for?

Also any ideas on a cheap sound card, under 130$?

if your current speakers are not putting out much bass then a new sound card would not improve it by much. Z-5500s are very high quality speakers that have no problem with bass. I listen to music on mine and they sound great. There is a bass control and when it is all the way down the subwoofer is completely off so it is perfect if you need low bass at some point.
