SoundCard AND reformat problem

Ok.. so i reformatted my pc.. and re installed my internet card.. and drivers for my video card.. but my pc doesn't have sound.. lol.. all it does is make sounds out of the tower.. and when i go to sound in the control panel.. it says the sound card is my cd rom... how can i get sound to work though my speakers..

It either has onboard sound or a sound card so you have to load those drivers too!

its onboard.. but im not sure what it is..and how to get the drivers for it.. but my pc is a dell dimension 2400 and its a onboard sound card.. so how do i get drivers for it then???

i downloaded the drivers.. and now it says i atleast have a sound card.. but it still doesn't have any sound

set the defualt sound device in the control to the card
