Soundcard and Front Aduio Jacks

Hey, i plan on buying a soundcard really soon but i have one concern. I use the front audio jacks for my headphones so i dont have to get under my desk every time as i switch between them constantly. MY question being will i still be able to use my front audio if i have a sound card? and will it be onbaord audio or from the soundcard?
 
The jacks on the front of the case will be for the onboard sound only. You can only have one sound output at a time.
 
If you can unplug the audio panel from the onboard sound chip and plug it into your new sound card it would work, if the connections are compatible. When your new sound card goes in you will have to dissable onboard sound in bios.
