Sound works in media players but nowwhere else

Ok heres the deal. I can only get sound when I play music through a media players such as Itunes/windows media player/ nero showtime, but when it comes to listening to anything on the internet, or even a cartoon clip through powerpoint there isnt any sound. thats the first issue im already confused about. but the second issue is the computers volume control wont work unless the program nero showtime is running then it works fine. the volume control doesnt show in the task bar even though its listed to show. thanks

It sounds like to me that Nero showtime is taking over everything. You might try to make windows media player the default player again and see if that helps. I know when I installed Nero I told the program to leave everything as it was set. Hope this helps.

I would also advice you to use windows media player as the dafult player. Nero player seems to be the main problem with your audio. Otherwise uninstall the nero player and then try to play any music from the internet. Hope it helps you.
