Sound volume changing help!

hi there, i have a bit of a problem with my speakers/sound card. for the last few days whenever i play music (on any program) the volume goes up and down and it gets really annoying, youre listning at a normal level one min, the volume goes down, you turn the speakers up and the volume comes back up really loud lol. can someone please help me find out hat is wrong?

it sounds really strange.....may try to re-installing sound drivers

try to monitor the voltage ! may be it's the problem

start>run>dxdiag ... sound tab

test direct sound. also, try at different acceleration levels and see if you still have the same problem.

I have a Creative Inspire P5800 speaker system, and I have a similar problem. I noticed when the volume went down that the little light on the remote was flickering/diming so I gave it a tap, and it stops until it randomly happens again later, then another tap takes cares of it, lol...
