Sound System advice

Hey folks!

I Have been looking into upgrading from my on board sound hardware to an actual PCI sound card. I would like to do some sound recording and something that would be good for gaming...and something with RCA ports that I could hook a console up to. I would like to spend under 100, but can work...any ideas would be sweet!

Love those EAX effects in games unique to Creative Labs! Under $100? You are in good shape there with the Sound Blaster X-FI XtremeGamer 7.1 surround sound model seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16829102006 You will find most model cards use 1/8" mini-plugs for line in and microphones with the SPDIF in and out jacks.

In the more recent pc games like FEAR you will often see the options to enable/disable the EAX settings. Some off brands like PINE are also good cards but lack the Creative specialty there. The model there was one of the two X-FI models out lately.
