Sound Splitter?

Is there any hardware that can split a computers sound output from, say, headphones to speakers without having to manually unplug them every time I want to switch? Thanks for help

I don't know of any right off, but it wouldn't be hard to make at all. You could consider a front audio pannle, as well. Check to see if you have the pins for it on your soundcard(just about all recent motherboards do, and most soundcards) These typically will mute your primary speakers when something's plugged into the front jack.

Or if you want an actual splitter(both going at once) radioshack carries stuff like that.

usually speaker systems come with little remote controlers where you can plug your headphone into.

That's basically what I was suggesting from Radio Shack... But I don't know if he'd want the sound going though both at the same time or not...
