Sound quit on me

It just stopped working. There is a red x by the speaker in the tray. When I hover over it 'No Audio Output Device is installed' appears. Right clicking for Sound shows the same message under playback. I have checked all wires and nothing is loose.

To be fair I have plugged in new speakers about a week ago and installed the Dragon Speech program at the same time. The speakers have been great but I haven't actually used the Dragon.

Windows Vista
 
Check device manager for any entries that have a yellow question mark next to it, this means that a driver needs to be installed or it has been corrupted.
