Sound Questions....

I can get sounds from the cd player and from my Xm satellite online listening program (XaMp) and from the dvd player and such but I cant get the windows chimes, clicks and such to play....I also cant hear sounds from web pages such as this one.... http://www.reuters.hu/card_dom/index_content.html


Whats up with my audio???

In the audio mixer, (if you double click the speaker in the icon tray, the right most part of the taskbar) check to make sure that all the sliders are up. I think it would be wave slider.

Thanks for the tip but I have already gone thru all the settings in the control panel and changed all sorts of associations with media player and such....I just cant figure out why I can hear everything but the windows sounds and web site audio... I have been listening to my XM radio all night online with no problems at all....I have unistalled the sound card and reinstalled re booted checked everything I could think of.

Its a Sony Vaio laptop with a Soundmax digital sound card....
