im sure you might of heard of this problems lots of times but im new here so help me. Ive got a soundblaster 5.1 card and 5.1 speakers. The back left and center dont work. I keep swapping them round and they all work but not at once. Ive turned that thing on that makes the microphone plug into a speaker plug but it doesnt seem to do much. Im not too fussed about all of the speakers not working but it would be nice to know why.

Your comment "I keep swapping them round and they all work but not at once". Not clear whether you are referring to speakers or channels.

You can check if all speakers work by plugging into the working right rear channel or left/right front. Use same speaker channel to test all speakers.

If speakers are OK the problem would then be that the rear left and centre audio channels are not working. They have no common cabling exterior to the sound card. The centre is usually grouped with the subwoofer on same mini-stereo plug.

Did you try the diagnostics in the Creative panel?

I have no ideas at the moment. You should check your speaker settings in the Creative panel are for 5.1 (I'm sure you did that already). Check channels are not disabled or otherwise turned down in settings.
