Sound problems...

My mother, which I live with at the moment, reformated our computer and none of the drives were backed up :( (WTF!?)... In device manager under other devices "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)" lists that its not installed. "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" also say its not installed. After trying to update them, I went to realtek.com and downloaded the audio driver but it would either work (sound comes on, but screen stays black after loading screen) or not (after installing drive computer automaticly restarts yet the driver wasnt installed). I bought this PC off a freind and he said that it was pieced together. Any help would be great! I can provide my "system information" if needed. Thanks Much :)

*Update* - Well I just installed the driver again from realtek.com but this time after installation I chose "restart later" and now the SOUND WORKS! but I'm worried if rebooted the black screen will come back. I'll Update later

Your full system specs would help. if you aren't sure, download and run CPU-Z and GPU-Z.

Does this help at all? I downloaded CPU-Z, what do you need to know? Should I type everything CPU-Z shows? I also downloaded GPU-Z and an error pops up saying "Unknown architecture".

from CPU-Z i need the motherboard name/model. don't worry about gpu-z, it's just for graphics cards.
