sound problem...

Hi guys,

My new custom pc works like a charm, except for one thing: sound. I have crappy speakers, and when I plugged then in my computer, I seriously had to get them close to my ears to hear the sounds. I didn't really care, since the headphones I own work perfectly with the pc, and are what I mainly use anyways. So I thought the speakers were the problem.

However, this morning, I didn't change anything and the sound stopped coming from the speakers. They are not even recognized by the system, even if they are still plugged. The headphones still work perfectly. I tried the speakers with my mp3 and they work just fine. So the problem is the computer.

What do you think happened, and how can I make the speakers work?

Thanks in advance,

Thanks! I think it worked. The headphones work once again, but the speakers are still a lot weaker than what I know they can be... I mean, when I plug them on my mp3, they can be a bit loud, but on my computer, the sound they make, even at maximum computer sound, is kinda low... Do you know why it does that?

Thanks again,
