i've got a motherboard which can input a 8 channel speaker into. i've added a couple more speakers today which makes it FOUR speakers.
i've plug it in and when i press test on sound settings which checks the speakers on each one, all four work fine. makes a sound.

but then when i play a video, music or go on a site (YouTube) the main speakers only work and not the other 2 i've added.

my setup motherboard: ASUS: P5QL, main speakers: 2 speakers and a sub, new speakers is a LCD TV which i've plug in the back to TV to component-audio in. yes the TV is making a sound when it is on testing in setup, i've turn off the main speakers and sub.

this has puzzled me. please help anyone

ps. i've swap the plugs around so my LCD TV are the main speakers and my main speakers should be the TV speakers and its doin the same thing.

That is becasue the videos on Youtube are mono or stero not mutli channel surround sound. It's perfectly normal for a stereo source to play in the two main channels. If youwant something to play in surround sound like dolby digital or DTS it needs to be encoded that way. Many sound cards have pseudo-sound modes like home theater recievers done, but results may very and the effect typically isn't very good.
