Sound on my computer is not working?!?

We had a virus on our computer so we had to wipe everything away with this CD and it wiped away everything. So when i turned my computer on we had to download everything and when i wanted to listen to music the sound wasn't working i checked everything. I know what the problem is but i can't fix it. The problem is that the pci serial port is not installed. I tried installing it but it told me to use a disk to install it and i tried going to the website to install but i just got to confused can someone help me??? I have Microsoft windows XP
 
Is it like an HP, compaq, dell, gateway computer? If so, then it will have a model number on the back so we can direct you to the correct driver.
 
OK, I still need a model number. Look on the back of the tower for a sticker with a model number on it.
