Sound not working?

Normally, I use to use my speakers built into my monitor to listen to sound after I installed this brand new NVidia card [and tossed out my ATI card]...it stopped working but I realized if I plugged in speakers it worked again...which was really a work around to a problem I never figured out...of why the sound didn't work.

It looks like your onboard sound is set for default, which means the audio plug for speakers would have to be plugged into the green port on the back of the motherboard. You can use the hdmi port on the video card to transfer sound as well providing your monitor supports the hdmi input.

Err, can you explain that again in a different way...I didn't quite understand. On the picture above I did have my speakers plugged into the green port...but without them = no sound

See the green checkmark next to speakers(realtek high definition audio default device)? That means you have onboard audio set as default playback. In order to get sound through hdmi to monitor if monitor supports then you would need to click on one of the hdmi's and click on set as default.

How are you connected to the monitor? vga, dvi, or hdmi cable?
