Yesterday I logged into my computer and the sound was not working, My speaers are not the proble, I tested two seperate inputs to the speakers as well as hooking them up to another computer (where they worked). So I tried reinstalling the drivers for my sound card, nothing, ran a diagnostic that came with it, nothing, any ideas?

Do the drivers show they are properly installed in device manager? Do you have the correct audio output selected? Have you tried a system restore?

System restore is under accessories, system tools in the start menu. Go back to a day it was working fine.

Look in the systray(down by the clock) for the volume icon to make sure there isn't a mute symbol on it.

Well, without a having a restore point to go back to, there isn't much you can do besides uninstalling the sound software and reinstalling it. If that don't work, its possible your sound hardware has died on you.

Ok, now thats spooky, the onboard audio is dead too.........and it's not the speakers, I have my ipod plugged into them just fine.....
