I recently reformatted and my sound isnt working. I have Logitech® X-530 speaker system (5.1 surround sound) and downloaded the drivers from the cd that came with the surround card that I bought to support it ( Soundblaster Live! 24bit) and I have everything plugged in correctly, nothing is muted or anything, under Control Pannel > Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices > Soundsand Audio > Audio - It is set to the soundcard which I have the speakers plugged in, they were working fine ( with the surround sound ) before the reformat. Any help?

Also I made a folder with important info( Very very very important) and put it in my shared folder, than reformatted, now I cant find it on any of the other computers , 3 others I am on a router with that is.. did I accidently erase it with the reformat? If so how can I get these files back, is it possible? It is very important.

Well check in your device manager to see if anything is not installed it (right click my computer, properties, Hardware Tab, device manager) If there are any yellow or red marks, thats your problem. Which ones are listed as being incorrect?

About the files... You say you put it into a shared folder.. Where was this folder located? It was shared from the computer to formatted? or it is on another pc, just you are unable to find it on the other pc?

No red, only 3 yellow. Under the Other Devices tab, The Ethernet port is yellow and also the SM Bus Controller, I dont use ethernet.

The sharing is enabled on the other computers, all 3 other ones. I put it into My shared folder, thinking it would share it and save it to all.. than I reformatted and it must have deleted that folder and now the other computers deleted it too... uh oh.

I fixed it in my console for the speakers and soundcard.. i Had Digital output Only selected. Small things make a big difference when they go unnoticed. I appreciate all the help, though on the other problem with the shared folder, if you can help please do!

I had the same problem not so long ago, all i had to do is go to the Sound Card Manufactor's website and download the driver, are they USB speakers or sound port?
