Well, I recently was forced to reformat, after a pretty strange series of events. I went to reinstall everything like I normally do, and as I went to reinstall the sound drivers(for my pci sound card, my integrated work, but not quite, since the mic is out, and the main sound output jack is messed up, but some of the other ones work), and either sometime during the installation or the restart afterwords, the sound card will output a loud screeching sound into the output devicem, and within a minute xp will freeze up and restart, in a never ending proccess until I intervene. So I got pretty frustrated with this, since sound is about as important of a thing on the computer as visual, and so I reformatted yet again. And again, and again, even trying, windows xp media center( I was trying it on xp pro before), and the 1 time I did get it functioning, the whole computer needed to be reformatted for another reason. So basically I am stuck in this delimna, trying to figure out a way around this, like I normally do, but positng here is pretty much a last ditch effort. Anyways I have had this card for a while, it is a Philips PSC604, and I have debated getting a new one, but I know the sound card works, so yeah my head is kinda split, any suggestions, ideas, possible solutions?.. Thanks!
