I've been using Dragon Naturally Speaking for over a year with a Philips USB SpeechMike. I thought it could be faster, so I bought one of the top-rated souncards recommended on Nuance's website (about £100).
I've noticed an incredible improvement in speed of recognition and overall performance of Dragon, but now I'm totally curious how the computer knows to transfer the sound to the new Soundcard for processing instead of through the Speechmike driver and the CPU (ie, seeing as I'm not using the mic input on the computer).
Any computer expert here who can enlighten me?
Many Thanks in advance.
