I'm looking to get rid if my on board sound. I don't have a gear computer sound system but may get one in the future

Any suggestions? I'd like to spend 99$ or less. Unless it's really worth the extra cash. Ty

Some of the comments say that it doesn't come with a power connector.

I'll need to buy it separately to be able to connect it to the psu?

You can choose ASUS Xonar D1 instead.
I don't think D1 need power connection.

You can also consider HT | OMEGA STRIKER 7.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card, it has good review as well

Honestly there really is no need to spend that much on a sound card...I used a $35 card for years and it absolutely pounds my house. Sounds amazing. I have ran it with XP and Vista with no issues at all. The software it comes with I actually like...very easy to set up speakers and equalizer.

Yeah creative make the best sound cards for mine if you are looking at a dedicated sound card creative is probably the way to go. :good:

I used creative sound card previously, I am sure there is different between cheap one and expensive one...
Also, even for budget card, I do think ASUS Xonar DS would be the better choice than creative.

If you off to creative, make sure you check if your OS work with the card before you purchase. They always has driver problem.

False. Creative does not make the best sound cards. There are many companies such as Asus and HT Omega that make vastly superior cards with better drivers. Creative should only be considered if it's for gaming only.
