Sound Card Problem

Hi all,

My Sound Card (Creative Audigy 5.1) has stop working!

My speakers (Logitech X 540's) work because i can play music through my motherboard.

Now i'm updating the driver and then once that is done i'm going to make sure it is sitting in the motherboard properly.

Before i updated the driver i remobed it (the driver) and then i install it off the disc and then doing the update.

But if not... what could be the problem???:confused:

XP or Vista? That was the main dilemna seen last fall when putting this case together with both XP and Vista in a dual boot. The Creative installer's automatic updater. the MS update site, and the latest download found on the XP not Vista support page all were the web installer for Vista drivers that went on XP?!

When deciphering that little dilemna the autoupdater was exited, the optional hardware updates at the MS update site were avoided, and the Dec. 2006 not July 2007 update was found to be the last for the newer X-Fi Xtreme series card for XP.

If the card there simply didn't quit on you seeing Vista drivers on XP will stall the works. Since that mess at the support site was finally corrected all you have to do now is select just what Audigy model that is. SE, Audigy 2 ZS Gamer, Audigy 4 and 4 Pro at http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/ Different Audigy models are 5.1 with some being 7.1 surround.

Done!

I opened up my case and resat my sound card.

I also took out a video card the was causing my motherboard to stand up a little so or all good now.

and PC eye i don't really ever read your post so when it comes to "my" threads i won't read them because he i get is a lecture.

If you want a lecture I would have to post page after page. If you don't want any help I'll simply put you on the blocked from view list and ...

(where did he go?)

lol.... well i did the driver thing first and then i went into the box to know more and then just eliminate things.

No I dont mean just reseating it, put it in another PCI slot if you have one open. When you uninstalled the drivers and rebooted did windows redetect it?

When you uninstall the drivers with no drivers installed and reboot windows it should have a new hardware detected pop up. Just asking to make sure the sound card just didnt go out. The reason I asked about changing it to another PCI slot is that a PCI slot could have gone bad. Just going over the hardware side of it first.

i uninstalled driver.... then installed it again.... then shut down and resat sound card... then it worked when i booted windows
