Sound Card for music production?

I am looking for a soundcard for the computer i am going to be building in a NZXT Whisper Case. I am a music student and plan on doing recording through both MIDI and Mic stuff in cubase. I also am doing gaming but the musical applications of the card are the primary focus. I woudn't mind spending a hefty amount on the sound card.

Can anyone reccomend a sound card for me.
