Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum

Hey there while i am here i mine as well make another post...i just bought this sound card with my system and well now i am just wondering what you guys think do u think it was a waste of my money to spend the extra bling on a sound card and i do notice a bit of a difference compared to my on board audio to a sound card audio but its not a huge difference but it might just be me i am not a hard core gammer so i guess i might not be noticing the difference but for listening to music and like a few shows i watch family guy etc. i barely notice the difference...any1 else have a bit of input thanx

if you don't notice that much of a difference then you wasted your money.

Hmmm

Well I would not call it a waste of money. However, a good sound card requires good speakers in order to truly hear the difference. The good thing in terms of gaming and so on is superior HD features and so on that relieve the processor in terms of processing sound and so on. That's where integrated soundcards flop.

Man,, That's the best sound card,, Can't wait to get one of those...I currently have the Audigy 2 platinum Edition,, But soon I will be getting the 7.1 channel X-Fi...

The X-Fi Elite Pro is actually the best.

But as someone posted before, you need good speakers or headphones to really tell the difference. The biggest difference to me was when i used headphones (even a $20 pair), your able to tell where the sound is coming from anywhere around you, really cool! I would invest in some nice headphones to really hear the difference.

yeah that's what I meant "X-Fi Elite Pro"... hopefully by feb 06, I should have it....
