Is the back of case near a wall or do you have objects blocking the sensor? Those remotes use the same led method you will find on vcrs. Try using it right near the case to see if you get anything. You may simpy have a bad remote that came with the sound card. When I got the remote along with the Audigy 4 Pro here I simply tossed it into a drawer and forgot about it! You could have a dead pickup on the setup itself while the remote is still good.

First make sure that the sound card is plugged into the PCI slot on your motherboard, then make sure you have the drive bay installed inside your computer alongside your CD/DVD drives. Then make sure you hook up the IDE cable from the front box to the sound card, and also hook up the floppy power connector to the front box. Then make sure the batteries are installed in the remote, and point the remote at the front drive panel.

The software/drivers also have to be correctly installed for it to work.

If you installed everything correctly, and it still doesnt work, then you have either a bad IR receiver, bad cables, or the remote doesnt work.

On an older Audigy 2 ZS Gamer the remote was crap right from the start. But it wasn't tried until a period of time after the installation. On the current card as mentioned before I just toseed it in a drawer. But either I am close to the system even with head phones often enough to adjust volume levels or out of the area with the volume raised up to the best point and let there. If you double checked the wiring from panel to card to make sure everything there is plugged in correctly it points right at the two things that count namely the receiver and remote itself. Usually the remote since it's a cheapie!
