Ever since I installed a Sound Blaster Audigy SE he has been unable to browse the Internet and listen to his music with Itunes. However he can listen to his music with WMP. We use AOL with a 56k modem to connect to the Internet. I have tried a different modem to see if that would fix the problem it did not. Can anyone help me with this problem?
 
Sorry I forgot to mention. I used the drivers from the cd and from there web sites for both the sound cards and the modems.
 
were you using onboard audio before the sound blaster? if so try removing the sound blaster card and trying itunes again. Also did you uninstall the onboard audio drivers when you installed the new card?
 
The onboard audio drivers have be uninstalled and I tunes was working before we installed the sound blaster. We need the sound blaster for it's 5.1 ability.
 
It seems the problem is that the modem and sound card are sharing the same IRQs recourses. I never changed IRQs before so this is kind of new to me. The motherboard is a ECS K8M800-M2. The BIOS is a Phoenix-Award BIOS. Also I need to no which IRQ to assign to the sound card.


The Modem is on PCI(17) and the sound card is on PCI(18)

5 i think for soundcards....but it can also be 9..10 or 11 just which ever of those your modem is not on....9,10 or 11 for the modem as well
