someone i know sent me a file and could not open

Had a psd extension. any ideas?
Just said it was suppose to be a map.

You need something that can read photoshop files. .psd extension

thats what i thought. i have adobe photoshop and paintshop pro. neither will open. Maybe it's corrupted.

Could be corrupted, also possible that it is 'protected' and can only be opened by a certain viewer but I doubt this.

If you want to double check you could download the free Portable version of STDU Viewer, it claims to read PSD but I have never tried it with that file type.
Right click the file > Open With and Browse to STDU
